David Litschel is a fine art photographer and travel/stock photographer. His photography is in the collections of: Adrian College, Adrian, MI; Crooker Museum of Art, Sacramento,CA; Dayton Art Institute, Dayton, OH; Quincy Art Center, Quincy, IL; The University of Michigan Museum of Art, Ann Arbor, Michigan; Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo, Ohio.
He is a noted educator, author, and consultant to industry and education.
Until December, 2010, David served in the capacity of the Provost at Brooks Institute with campuses in Santa Barbara and Ventura, California over a period of 11 years. Prior to taking his administrative role, he was a faculty member at Brooks Institute of Photography for 15 years. He is the co-author of two books on photography, Black and White Photography first edition published in 1994 and Digital Photographic Capture published by Focal Press in 2005.
He has been active in many professional organizations, including: serving as President and a member of the Board of Directors of the Photo Imaging Education Association (PIEA); member Advisory Council Participant, PLUS Advisory Council, Picture Licensing Universal System; member Board of Directors Photo Access Corp.; and Advisory Board Member, Photographer’s Forum Magazine. David earned the Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Michigan and the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Colorado where he was awarded Phi Beta Kappa.
